Is Cold Email Still Relevant in 2025
What happened in 2024 and What can you do about it?
Welcome to Issue #1 of RevGen Labs Report. If you were forwarded this by your colleague, let's connect.
Today, we’re discussing whether cold email is still relevant in 2025. To be exact I am going to share some strategies and tips that will help you book more meetings via email.
Agenda:
What happened to cold emails in 2024
What the future of cold emails looks like

What happened to cold emails in 2024?
At the beginning of 2024 people called it the year when cold email died.
It was a tough year for cold emailers.
Major players like Google and Yahoo rolled out stricter rules. They wanted sender authentication, easy unsubscribe options, and spam rates below 0.3%.
Suddenly everyone was dealing with bounced emails and silent inboxes.

Then towards the middle of the year, Google again changed its policies. Google started connecting the dots more proactively if you were sending across multiple domains.
That is your primary domain was in danger, if all your secondary redirects towards the main domain.
Towards the end of the year, Outlook delivery issues became a common headache too.
Outlook was just not delivering for anyone.
But you know what?
Cold email didn't die - it evolved.
The lazy marketers who refused to adapt died.
Meanwhile, the pros quietly pivoted and kept booking meetings.
What does the future of cold emails look like?
The space has gotten 10X CRAZY difficult compared to just a year ago.
It feels like those spam filters are on steroids now.
Microsoft and Google are straight-up hunting down AI content, which means a ton of emails aren't even making it to inboxes.
It's a complete mess out there.
At the moment cold emails are like house of cards, one tiny mistake will tank your entire campaign.
And all those clever triggers everyone that were hot last year are total duds now.
What's actually working is either super basic (but authentic) messaging or wildly creative approaches with clay that nobody else is doing yet.
My strategy for cold emails
So, we are full circle in cold email.
We are now doing 2 things:
1. Sticking to basics
2. Unique clay customization
And it’s not just all but everyone in the space.
Those "personalized" templates that worked for everyone are not getting filtered out instantly.
We are also seeing response management become absolutely critical.
(Yeah, that's why we built RevReply!)
Because as per InsideSales leads contacted within 5 minutes are 100x more likely to convert.
Wait too long, and poof - it's gone.
The window for closing deals has gotten so much smaller.
Look, I'm not gonna sugarcoat this - cold email in 2025 is HARD.
But it's far from dead.
You need to adapt quickly and stay committed to quality.
And guess what? Tuesday Triggers sessions are back tomorrow! 🎉
